All District 25 Teachers' Bargaining Unit members are invited to submit applications for partial funding subsidies to offset costs of conferences and workshops.
The regular PD Conference funding grant is up to $600 per person available every TWO academic school years, running from July 1 to June 30 the following year.
The distribution of grants will be split equally between Semester 1 and Semester 2.
Please note the following conditions apply:
A conference is a meeting, workshop and/or activity that leads to professional enhancement in the field of education
Funding is not available for conferences which grant certification or credit toward job qualification or salary increase.
The funding can be applied to the cost of registration, the cost of accommodation (excluding meals) and travel. Travel will be reimbursed at $.62 / km. (** Please Note: our funding can't be used to cover costs of release time.)
Receipts must be provided before a cheque can be issued. Confirmation of registration is required.
Applications must be received prior to the conference.
Receipts must be submitted within one month following the conference.
Applications will be processed on a first come first served basis. Apply early in the semester as applications will not be considered once the funding available that semester has been allocated.
You will be informed of the amount available for grant prior to the conference, when time permits.
All outside financial support for the conference must be disclosed or the application will be rejected.
Funding must be approved 1 month before event
The expense is charged to the financial year for which the conference is attended, that is, from July 1 to June 30.
Members should apply for the funds well in advance of the PD event using the embedded form below. Form not working? Access it here.
Once the application has been approved and the member has receipts for all expenses, a Conference Funding Financial Statement (see the attachment below) must be submitted before the reimbursement can occur.
